Summary : A long mound located circa 600 yards south of Manure Barn may be a long barrow. Orientated roughly southwest-northeast, Grinsell (circa 1930) measured it at 28 paces long by 16 paces wide. Ordnance Survey field investigation in 1972 noted traces of a mound up to 1 metre high, but detailed examination was impossible due to it being so overgrown with scrub and brambles.
More information : (TQ53560065) LONG BARROW (NR) (1) A long mound c 600 yds S of Manure Barn. It has the appearance of a long barrow (2). Orientation SW-NE ? 28 paces long, 16 paces wide and 4ft high. It does not appear to have a local name (3). Traces of a mound up to 1.0m high, so overgrown with scrub, brambles, nettles etc, that neither its size nor shape can be ascertained. More precise classification impossible. Published survey (25") apparently correct but impossible to check due to conditions. (4)
